Only Spirit U gives you the chance to practice and perform with Spirit of Atlanta

Spirit U is returning for 2018 and it's even bigger and better!   This exclusive 3-Day summer camp for marching band students is June 14th-16th at University of West Georgia in Carrollton.  Spirit U is the only camp of it's kind that allows students to spend time rehearsing, performing and interacting with members of DCI's Spirit of Atlanta Drum & Bugle Corps.  The corps and staff will spend a full rehearsal day on site, giving Spirit U campers a true drum corps experience.  The camp concludes with the Spirit of Atlanta Preview Show where Spirit U students and Spirit of Atlanta will perform together in front of an enthusiastic audience.
Spirit U Camp Director Gary Gribble is excited about the expanded schedule which provides three full days of instruction for the campers.  "We've expanded to a longer schedule which means our students will have more time with our great staff of instructors," Gribble says.  "The level of teaching is unmatched, and with the added time where our students can experience what it's like to be a part of Spirit of Atlanta, there is really no other summer camp that can provide a more fun experience."  Gribble also pointed out the addition of new sessions geared toward band directors and band boosters.  "Making Spirit U a full educational resource for everyone involved in the marching band activity was a goal for us," he says.
The cost of Spirit U remains the same for 2018 even with the additions to the program.  Early registration for students is just $265, if booked before May 14th.  Full-price registration will be $295.  Tuition includes dorm accommodations on the UWG campus, and all meals in the dining facility.  Director and Booster sessions are one-day only, and priced at $125.  Group discounts are available for groups of 10 or more from any single school.

Spirit of Atlanta Corps Director Chris Moore believes that it’s a great opportunity for students to see inside the daily activities of a world-class corps.  He says that “for any young person who wants to become a better performer, Spirit U is the perfect way to learn and grow.”  He added “the time our Spirit U students spend with Spirit of Atlanta will be invaluable.   They will develop interpersonal connections with corps members, have the chance to socialize, and most importantly become immersed in the intensity of drum corps during rehearsal and instructional time.”   Moore also invites interested Band Directors to attend Spirit U.  “The instructional tracks are very useful, and we’ll allow time to get to know our corps staff of instructors for some valuable one-on-one time.”
