Spirit of Atlanta announces additions to Operations team

Spirit of Atlanta is excited to announce two key additions to our 2017 team. We are proud to welcome Jeff Pearson to Spirit in the role of Director of Operations, and Jordan Roquemore as the Operations Manager for the 2017 season. Together, Pearson and Roquemore will oversee all corps operations and logistics management, including camp and tour planning, travel and housing, food service, and tour operations.


Jeff Pearson

Pearson comes to Spirit from his most recent role as Corps Director of the Boston Crusaders, a role he took on in 2016. He joined the Crusaders in 2014 and served as Operations Manager in 2015. During the 2006, 2007 and 2008 seasons Pearson served as both Program Manager and A Corps Director for Santa Clara Vanguard, of Santa Clara, CA. In this role, he oversaw multiple performing groups including Vanguard, Vanguard Cadets, and Vanguard Winterguard. Aside from drum corps, Pearson’s background is both as an HR professional and entrepreneur. His resume includes ADP, and Syncro Vac as an HR manager, and he was the founder and owner/operator of Papa Murphy’s Pizza stores in Southern California. Pearson says he is looking forward to the process of helping Spirit of Atlanta thrive operationally, saying “Spirit of Atlanta has a storied history and I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to be a part of the next chapter”


Jordan Roquemore

Roquemore most recently was Operations Manager for the Boston Crusaders, having been an Operations Assistant prior. He served as a visual staff instructor for Crossmen in 2014, and also as a member of the Operations and Tour staff for Santa Clara Vanguard from 2005-2008. Aside from corps, Roquemore is CEO and Founder of Box Angle Bands, providing leadership and instructional training for people in the marching band environment. Roquemore and Pearson have worked together for a number of years in the drum corps activity and are looking forward to combining forces again with Spirit of Atlanta. Roquemore says that he is “really excited about the opportunity to serve Spirit this year.  Everyone has been so nice, welcoming and supportive. I can’t wait to get to work to help the team take their Operations game to the next level.”

Spirit of Atlanta Director Chris Moore says the addition of Pearson and Roquemore means “we have just added a wealth of years of experience to our organization. Operations is the most critical area that you have to get right in order for everything else to have a chance for success.   Jeff and Jordan are a remarkable team that I know will provide the effectiveness and stability needed for our members, volunteers and staff to be afforded everything they need.”
