McIntosh Joins Spirit of Atlanta Design Team

Spirit of Atlanta is excited to announce the latest addition to our 2016 Program Design Team: Michael McIntosh joins Spirit in the role of Sound Designer and Creative Consultant.  Currently serving  as the Percussion Caption Supervisor and a percussion designer for The Cavaliers drum and bugle corps, McIntosh is thrilled to be adding his special touches to the new design team already in place.  “Getting a chance to sound design for a drum corps near and dear to my heart is something I am very happy about, ” he said.  “The new direction Sprit of Atlanta has taken on every level is exciting and I’m honored to be a part of it. 2016 is Spirit’s 40th anniversary and it is already shaping up to be something special.”

Michael McIntosh joins Spirit of Atlanta as Sound Designer and Creative Consultant

Mr. McIntosh holds a BA in Music Composition from Butler University, and works as a freelance composer and digital sound designer.  He is the Percussion Coordinator for the Music For All Summer Symposium, a former percussion specialist at Carmel high school in Carmel, Indiana and part of a program named the 2001 AAA National Champion, and the 2005 and 2012 BOA Grand National Champions.  Additionally, Michael is currently the Program Coordinator/Arranger for the Gateway Indoor Independent World WGI percussion ensemble from St. Louis, Missouri.  He is a Yamaha artist/clinician as well as a signature drumstick artist with Innovative Percussion. Mr. McIntosh also endorses EVANS drumheads, Zildjian cymbals and Planet Waves Cables.

Spirit of Atlanta Director Chris Moore commented “We are very excited to have Michael McIntosh joining our design team for the 2016 season. As a well established and respected leader and innovator in sound design, Michael will enable us to push our musical boundaries in new and exciting ways.”

Spirit of Atlanta’s 40th Anniversary season officially starts with Audition Camps scheduled for November 27-29 and December 11-13.  Full information and registration is on the website.
